Cookie: "Who my father was matters less than my memory of him." Hmmm, that can be a nice sentiment, but can also be problematic when someone denies what kind of person their father (or mother) was and perform questionable actions because of an idea rather than the reality. The comic Star Wars: Legacy has a good example of this, where a main character hates Jedi because they killed his father, but chooses to forget that his father was a pirate and murderer. The Jedi was doing his duty and ridding the galaxy of a terrible person. Boba has a similar situation.
A clone with a receding hairline. I guess he got the short end of the genome.
Are these younger clones still years away from being able to perform in combat? How long does the Republic have to wait if they need more clones?
Dee Bradley Baker voicing Jax threw me off the first time around, as I had assumed all of the younger clones would be voiced by Daniel Logan.
Boba doesn't look at any of the unhelmeted clones. Can't be easy to see the face of his father.
And, of course, Boba isn't all that happy to see his father's killer, either.
Mace: "You seem more disappointed than our cadets."
Anakin: "It's our job to instruct and inspire."
Mace: "You just wanted to show off."
Anakin: "Hey, when I show off, it is instructive. And inspiring."
Mace: "For you, maybe."
Admiral Kilian! I like him. Must be the accent.
Boba: One shot, one kill. Shades of the future best.
Not very perceptive of the kid walking right next to Boba to not notice him slink away.
I like the little western motif you get in Boba's theme as he sneaks off and plants the bomb. It recurs throughout the episode. Not sure if it does throughout the trilogy, too.
I like Aurra's emphasis on "dead".
The reactor has shades of the tractor beam in the Death Star.
Kilian: Cool as a cucumber. I wish they'd brought him back.
Why is there a button whose sole purpose seems to be to make the escape pod malfunction? It opens a drag fin, apparently, but there's no drag in space, so what makes it break off?
The "I don't expect you to understand, Jedi," line is nice, and gives a possible hint at tension that could make the Jedi's fate easier to accept among the Navy.
Slave I! Love the silhouette shot of Aurra and Bossk.
I love how hopeful Boba is. "Let them go?"
Now exactly sure why Boba being jettisoned into the unknown would be poetic.
"Do it!"
Why didn't Aurra just blow up the pod?
I do love that music when the pod is abandoned. Filoni had some commentary about the dueling themes representing Boba's two possible future paths. Alas, we know the one he ultimately chooses.
Next, every droid gets its day in "R2 Come Home".
