“Invitation Only” is our comic this time in which a bounty hunter tries to take out Cad Bane, but the hunter becomes the hunted. Aurra Sing takes the hunter’s legs out and Bane reveals that he was testing his team to make sure they could work together. Their next stop is Coruscant.
Fortune cookie: “A secret shared is a trust formed.” I would imagine we have a reference to Anakin and Padme, here.
Cad Bane debuts here. I’ll admit, the first time I saw this episode, I wasn’t completely impressed by him. I thought they were trying too hard to make a cool character. I’ve come around, though. He’s now one of my favorite characters.
Anakin shows in this first scene that he still has some maturing to do. Padme is fine looking at the big picture, focusing on her duty and all Anakin wants to talk about is their love for each other.
“Bubble brain”? Bane gets some cool points docked for using that expression.
“Right. Privacy invasion bill.” Even Padme gets a zinger from time to time.
She could have left the lightsaber in her office for Anakin. Especially when Bail is walking out.
Aurra executing that guy: pure, cold-bloodedness.
Seems it doesn’t pay to be a Gran Senator on this show. They keep getting killed.
Bane recognizes Skywalker here, indicating that they’ve met before. OTOH, Skywalker is probably a pretty famous guy in this war.
This is another episode where it seems like Anakin could utilize the Force better than he does. I guess he figured something out by the time Han Solo was shooting at him.
There’s a bit of Die Hard in this plot, of course. Anakin doesn’t last as long as John did, though.
Aurra’s single line!
I have to think Palpatine is taking some pleasure in Orn Free Taa’s misery.
“Oh my god.” Ha! Love the quiet clone humor.
Ziro is quite the drama queen. And Bane shows he truly is a despicable individual by trying to blow up the senators!
And that’s a wrap! Good bye season one! Onto season two!
Next: A new season and more Bane fun in “Holocron Heist”!
