The webcomic this time around is “Headgames” and introduces us to Aayla and her clone commander Bly. They outsmart a Tactical Droid and salvage its head for information. I don’t recall if this has anything to do with the episode (it doesn't).
Cookie: “Greed and fear of loss are the roots that lead to the tree of evil.” Kind of a complicated way to phrase the “Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate…” idea. Also not sure how this one ties into the episode.
Aayla Secura, Action Pose!
So, Aayla sounds French. Must say, all those years of reading comics with her in them, I had not pictured that. But hey, Jennifer Hale is always a welcome guest star.
There’s a cool shot through the Jedi cruiser’s windows as the ship comes out of hyperspace. You see the planet zoom in. Quite neat.
Whoa, Anakin rode a SBD with a jetpack down to Aayla’s ship. He IS the Chosen One.
I’m sorry, if a ship crashes like that, Ahsoka and company should not just be jumping out like they had a nice soft landing.
Lot of pressure on Skywalker to save everyone’s behinds at the beginning.
Love the moment with the lone battle droid about to be destroyed by Anakin only for its reinforcements to arrive, causing it to laugh “ha HA!”
Looks like Aayla has an attitude Anakin would appreciate. “Are all Jedi so reckless?” “Just the good ones!”
Here’s a Hammer: In the EU, ships can’t go into Hyperspace in a gravity well, let alone a planet’s atmosphere. Here, that Republic cruiser has no problem jumping to Hyperspace practically in the Resolute’s hangar.
Another hard crash where half of the characters were standing up. Those Republic ships must have some amazing inertial dampers.
At the same time, we have an EU shoutout, hinting at Aayla’s close relationship with her master Quinlan Vos.
Aayla saves Bly from falling seeds. And he ends up shooting her in the back. What a jerk.
Rex vs. the giant bird thing! Somehow, he survives. The other troopers, though…
Nice shot, Bly! Between him and Rex it must run in the genes.
So, why can’t Rex and Anakin take shelter inside the ship? Seems like they may have a better chance in there.
Oh joy. The faux-Irish ultra-pacifist lemurs. I mean the Lurmen. And it’s all downhill from here.
So, the village chief, Tee Watt Kaa would probably not agree with Patrick Henry’s most famous quote.
Rex is a good shot, too.
Wag Too. What a name. I’ll admit right now, I’m biased against the kid, even if I agree with him more than his dad.
Heh, this was the oil-on-the-armor gag. They didn’t have a shirtless Anakin model yet, so somehow the healing stuff is able to get to Anakin through the armor. Uh huh.
Not much to this episode. We get the full-on pacifist blitz (if that’s possible) in the next episode.
