The webcomic for this one is “Mouse Hunt”, showcasing one of Cody’s and Rex’s stops on their inspection tour. Not much to it.
Cookie: “The best confidence builder is experience”, a lesson learned all too well in this episode by our very green Domino Squad (before we knew they were, in fact, Domino Squad).
This episode takes on a very different feel now that we’ve had “Clone Cadets” and gotten to know our rookies. Cutup’s death in particular gets more meaning, at least for me.
Cutup’s got a beard! And Hevy’s got the stronger arm.
“Good man, that Cody.” Don’t think you’ll be saying that when he tries to blast you in a couple of years, Obi-Wan.
Either the commando droids are insanely fast, or more than one pod came in that meteor shower.
You’d think Droidbait would have brought a gun to check on 327’s disappearance.
Our first look at commando droids here and I must admit they’re rather cool.
Ventress and Grievous were planning to attack Kamino here. It would be a while before they managed to carry that plan out, though a couple of the rookies would factor into that, too.
Nice, Cody. “Something might be wrong? All right, Rex, you’re in charge.”
Poor Cutup. He was definitely one of my favorites after “Clone Cadets”. Must be the accent.
I think it’s Rex that gets the “bad feeling” line. (According to Wookieepedia it's Cody and watching it again, it does appear to be Cody doing the talking head bob)
A droid that pops back up after being shot a couple of times. Not cool.
Rex is one amazing shot. Bet he didn't even break a sweat when that giant eel showed up.
I don’t blame Cody for thinking that plan with the droid head would never work.
The sword-wielding commando droid is not as formidable as one might have expected.
Ooh, TCW drops a “hell”. Only about ten minutes after Cody asked Rex “What the heck are you doing?!”
Obi-Wan believes a little too much in that all-clear signal. Even after hours of not hearing from Cody.
Ah, poor Hevy. Noble to the end.
I’m wondering how those medals get pinned to their armor. Magnets, I suppose.
And so, the story of Echo and Fives begins. Sort of.
