The last webcomic in the Malevolence trilogy is “Agenda”, which sets up the reason Padme and Threepio were flying into a warzone at the beginning of the episode. Palpatine sends them there because the Banking Clan allegedly wants to leave the Separatists and rejoin the Republic. We also get Jar Jar’s first webcomic appearance and we meet Captain Argyus, who plays a prominent role in “Cloak of Deception” as well as meet Onoconda Farr a. k. a. “Uncle Ono” and set up Rodia’s problems for “Bombad Jedi”.
Cookie: “A plan is only as good as those who see it through.” Fortunately, Star Wars heroes are some of the best at seeing plans through.
Padme and Threepio talk about what happened in the webcomic, so you really don't need to read it to get the gist of what they're doing there. Looks like Sidious set Padme up.
Gotta love a ship that’s so big it needs its own rail system.
“Mind the gap. Mind the gap. Mind the gap.”
Okay, droid humor doesn’t usually bother me, but making them so incompetent they can’t work a fire hose is a little much.
Obi-Wan: “That’s your plan? Just fly there, land, hope they don’t spot us, and walk in the door?”
Anakin: “Basically,"
Obi-Wan (with a smirk): “Oh, brilliant. Let’s get going.” Heh heh.
I do like the Anakin/Obi-Wan banter in this episode. Always what I imagined when Obi-Wan described Anakin as a “good friend”.
Heh. Battle droids are already showing a sense of resignation when facing Jedi.
Luminara! Forgot she makes her first (holo) appearance in this episode. Man, I love Olivia d’Abo’s voice.
Threepio gets hit by a train. He’s remarkably durable for a droid who loses an arm by falling over in 20 years.
I think this is the first episode where I realized Anakin could apparently understand Artoo perfectly.
Grievous: “Hello there.” Nice reference. Though since this episode comes chronologically before Episode III, it looks like Obi-Wan echoed Grievous' phrase back to him.
One wonders why Obi-Wan doesn’t always handle destroyer droids so easily.
I prefer Padme in her action roles more than her politics. I think this is one of her better episodes.
Anakin Force pushes his wife. Can’t imagine many husbands could get away with that.
The battle droids jumping after Grievous are kind of sad.
Obi-Wan vs. Grievous, Round 1 - short and sweet.
Grievous cutting Dooku off is kind of awesome.
I do like that Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, Artoo, Threepio hero shot at the end. Hard to believe it’s the first time we’ve had it. Threepio wasn’t around at the end of TPM, after all. And Obi-Wan wasn't around at the end of Episode II.
