I can't help but use Sauron voice when saying this episode's title.
Cookie: “When all seems hopeless, a true hero gives hope.” And that hero is most likely R2-D2.
Star Wars has always had a... troubling relationship with its droids. And The Clone Wars isn't afraid to hint at that. The droids all want to repair and restore BZ. Gascon wonders why. It's an attitude many share in the Star Wars galaxy.
It's a shame they never actually fly THROUGH a comet as you did in the original Star Tours. Nice call back to R2's original heroics in TPM, though. And this time, all of the droids do their part!
This also answers the question of what happens if a ship in hyperspace flies through a smaller object, like a comet or asteroid, that might not be accounted for on a hyperspace jump calculation. Nothing good.
They came up with one stark, salty planet design in this episode.
The famous Jaxxon skeleton!
I'll give the creators credit. This episode is a little strange and not much happens, but they went for something different. Gascon's breakdown, the droids' unfailing logic (even WAC's), this strange, featureless setting; it all makes for a unique chapter of The Clone Wars. I imagine it's probably the least liked by older fans in this four part arc, but I appreciate the effort to stretch a little.
I forgot about the Star Wars Gallimimus stampede.
Good thing the animals don't freak out when random creatures jump on their back. In fact... they REALLY like it.
R2. Always having to deal with insanity. And almost always making the right call. I'm going to assume that if he hadn't been grabbed by Jawas (or pursuing stormtroopers) in ANH, he would have made it to Anchorhead.
Next... the squads find someone who's "Missing in Action"!
