I completely forgot that this four parter turns the logo blue for Mr. D2 himself.
Cookie: “Humility is the only defense against humiliation.” I suppose you need a bit of humility if you're going to depend on a squad of astromechs. Plus, Gascon is going to learn a bit of humility in this episode as we shall soon see. And more over the course of the entire arc.
The droids of Anakin, Aayla, Tera Sinube, and a dude with a giant fin on his head. The website says his or her name is Thongla Jur.
Ah yes, WAC-47. Forgot about him. Likely one of the reasons this arc isn't the most popular with some fans. He's like the Jar Jar of this four parter. Probably a hit with the kids, too. Just like Jar Jar.
And here's the other reason: Colonel Meebur Gascon.
Gascon's voice sounds like Stephen Stanton doing a Clancy Brown impression. To the point that I thought it WAS Clancy Brown doing an over the top voice the first time I saw the episode.
This mad scientist is pretty entertaining.
Poor M5-BZ. Getting lobotomized for Gascon's transport.
It is often a wonder to me just how good late season Clone Wars looks. Gascon looks terrific.
Artoo going off script. Gascon doesn't seem to mind.
The entire arc throws into question why the Resistance didn't try to use the same model droids as the First Order. Though maybe the FO kept their droid models classified to prevent such infiltrations.
Clone Wars B2 battle droid voices > ROTS B2 battle droid voices
“My size may have played a small factor.” Nice pun, Meebur.
Of COURSE Artoo opens the door in three seconds flat. I just wonder why he didn't do that immediately. Probably enjoyed seeing Gascon flail a bit.
Gascon was clearly selected ONLY for his size. Because he is not a remotely competent officer.
I hope KT-QT deactivated those mines before putting them in her head.
Interesting that none of the Separatists droids make a note of dead M5-BZ. At all.
Artoo knocking out the Super Tactical Droid by just... falling on him is a genuinely funny moment.
Honestly, as a single, self-contained episode, it's not bad. Even kind of cute. Not sure why they needed to stretch this team out into four parts, though.
Next, things get a little weird in “A Sunny Day in the Void”!
