Cookie: “All warfare is based on deception.” Ain't that the truth. And the Republic certainly isn't above it as a concept. Also, this might be the first time the title is in the fortune cookie.
Interesting that the Star Wars galaxy has the phrase “behind bars” when so many of their jails use forcefields.
Love Obi-Wan's moment of resolve to start the plan. The first time I saw the episode I was wondering what the heck was going on with that.
I wonder how many people in that chamber actually know about the truth. Much of the Jedi probably don't, Satine and Padme obviously don't. You want it to look believeable, of course.
The snake bartender is pretty cool. I like to think it's the same species we see later in Savage's trash planet episode. Maybe I'm being snakeist.
Interesting that it's Obi-Wan's idea that Anakin not know about the plan.
I always try to see how much bald Obi-Wan looks like Ewan, since Ewan is usually beardless in life. Quite a lot, actually.
I really enjoy watching the whole operation. Even Mace comes across as likeable here.
I wonder if JAT actually had to switch between voices in one sentence or if he got some postproduction help when Obi-Wan's voice is becoming Hardeen's. Either is equally believeable.
And, of course, the Imperial March as angry Anakin enters the bar.
Obi-Wan is one hell of an actor.
There are three of the bat ape aliens in the food line and quite a few in the mess hall. Guess they didn't have THAT many models, even this deep into the series.
Is that Ron Perlman as the shark? (No)
Eval is one fun villain. I like him.
I thought there'd be something about the sauce the first time I watched this one. Seems not.
Interesting that clone guards might be corruptible enough for Eval to be able to pull strings in prison.
Nice Cad Bane intro.
Also, nice to have Cad Bane back. I hope he shows up on Rebels at some point.
Eval speaks in third person. Just another quirk I love about him.
Who doesn't love that Obi-Wan's code name is Ben? And how much he slips back in to Obi-Wan's usual speaking style when reporting in? What a great touch.
Welcome back, young Boba! And welcome back to your western-style theme!
And Bossk! The cameos in this episode and arc in general are so fun.
If Bane has broken out of this prison before, I'm surprised they don't take further precautions.
You'd think the guards wouldn't lose track of how many bodies were in the chutes.
Poor clone guards. Sacrificed in the name of some greater purpose. Protecting a secret Sith Lord.
Bane already suspects Hardeen. We'll have to count how many more times that comes up.
Next, the fugitives figure out which is which in “Friends and Enemies”!
