Cookie: “The wise man leads, the strong man follows.” Rex is certainly wise. Krell is certainly strong. And most of the troopers would definitely prefer one over the other.
The cubed hologram is kind of neat. As is the fact that they all fall and scatter when the transmission fails.
100 megaton yields seems like a rather generous estimate for those missiles. The atom bombs dropped during WWII were in the kiloton range. Those missile explosions do not remotely look like they're creating nuclear damage.
This is the arc that made me really like Fives.
“Hardcase! What are you doing?!”
“If I knew, I wouldn't be doing it!”
Fives' improvised stalling to Krell of course recalls Han's attempt in the Death Star detention center without directly quoting it. Great scene.
Just watching this episode, it's clear how far the animation had advanced in four seasons.
“I'm in, regardless of the consequences!” Hardcase, in a nutshell.
Both love the callback to Episode I (even if that wasn't one of my favorite parts of that movie) and the little sample of the Force Theme when Fives discusses Anakin.
Rex definitely approves of the plan. That look on his face as they take off is very "All RIGHT!"
“I'm just doing it for fun!” How can you not love Hardcase?
The atmopsheric battle is freaking spectacular.
Why do battle droids even need breaks?
Major Episode I callback, flying through the shield ship. Don't know why the Trade Federation/Separatists need such large corridors leading to their reactors. I guess Jedi started the tradition, but at least the Death Star was still under construction when that occurred.
RIP, Hardcase. You were the best.
If you didn't know Krell was dark side before...
Next, Rex and co. have to face the “Carnage of Krell”!
